Art With Ms. Wenli
Greetings!
I am Wenli Liu (Lacey), born and raised in China. I am an art creator and
love to inspire the young generation.
I'm currently residing in Honolulu, Hawaii, and in my second year of pursuing a Master's degree in Art Education at The Art of Education University, where I fall in love with the Choice-Based Art Teaching Method. It is based on the philosophy of TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior). Students learn through authentic art-making at an open art studio. Control shifts from teacher to the learner as students explore ideas and interests in art media of their choice.
This concept supports multiple modes of learning to meet the diverse needs of our students.

The Open Art Room builds the curriculum on a foundation of how artists think and work. This method of unit planning encompasses a rich platform for the student to develop and create art
(Purtee & Sands, 2017).
Mini-Lesson Ideas
The basic idea is to present a five-minute demo on a new skill or technique and introduce art knowledge, including art movement, elements of art, design principle, and artist inspiration, before students move to their centers.
